It all started with our first meeting. As a Motherhood Photographer, I love hearing about momma's journeys. It was clear to me that these two have quite the love story. That Nick thinks the world of Tia, and just watching him beam with pride about the little one growing inside of Tia warmed my heart. Usually, I focus solely on a momma's story, but after our initial consult, Nick let me know that he had a super special idea up his sleeve for our maternity session. So on a beautiful night in October, we met at Sleepy Hollow in Bismarck to start our plans.......
Next, we headed over to Pioneer Park in Bismarck that has a perfect little meadow that I absolutely love shooting at. The sun drops just perfectly above the trees to give Tia this perfect maternal glow. We had decided during this time to do a wardrobe change for Tia as well, and while we were at this spot, I pointed out another spot not too far behind us that would be were Nick would start up his surprise for the woman, that you can see through these images, means the absolute world to him.
As you can see, Nick absolutely loves Tia, and Tia absolutely loves Nick. During our whole session, we had so many laughs, but there were also so many moments where it was so very passionate. That they are so in love. See what you didn't know is that after Tia and Nick left our consult, he told Tia he had to use the restroom and would be right back out. He then stepped back and asked me to help him out with a little surprise. I knew that this surprise had to be perfect. They both deserved that, they both deserve the world. They are such amazing and kind people. So up until our session, Nick and I were scheming behind the scenes.
So now the moment you all have been waiting for. The answer to what Nick ask me to help him with. About a week before our session, Nick stopped back over to the studio and we made the game plan. Then I changed it up a little on him. So while Tia was changing when we got to our last stop, I pull Nick aside and gave him the new plan. I had brought these party poppers in Pink that he would pop behind her. Then when we were done I wanted him to floof out her dress, and that was the sign..... So we go her faced away to do some sassy/attitude shots. And the rest is history..........
So as I wrap this up. Thank you so much Nick and Tia, thank you for allowing to not only letting me be a part of your motherhood journey Tia. And Nick, thank you for allowing me to check this one off my must shoot bucket list. I really hope Tia, that I am still not a jerk, and that you have forgiven us for planning this behind your back. You, momma, are radiant, you are stunning and you are so lucky to have a guy like Nick giving you the world. I can't wait to meet baby girl in a few months!
