This is my Grandpa. My first love, the man who has taught me what hard work and what it's like to be feisty.
He's the one who told me I have an amazing mom that I should marry when he got to know my now husband. He's one of my reason WHY. Why I take a picture EVERYTIME I am with home. He's 96, and a spitfire still. I know the day will come when he's not here, and my heart is not and probably will never be ready.
He is my sons "best friend". They have always had a bond that is so strong and L loves to talk to him on the phone, and they will sit and talk tractors. While I am not sure if any of it is even true, their knowledge is quite extensive.
A couple weeks ago, we traveled back to Fargo to pick up my late Grandmothers piano and other things from my Grandpa's house. At 96, he suffered a heart attack and has now been at an assisted living facility. He sold his house, and the last bit of my Grandma will now also be gone as well. I didn't expect to walk into their last home together an get super emotional, but I did. I kept tearing up with each piece of them I loaded up into our trailer and truck. Over 15 years my Grandpa has lived there, and it has been a place where our family had holidays and birthday parties.
Each of these images are cell phone uploads, so excuse the quality. But he's the driving force behind my business. He taught me that hard work pays off. This man served his clients from Pioneer Seeds for years. And this week, is his last week as a home owner. It's an emotional week. But as a family we will get through it.
